Redirecting?
Boy, the headline on this article rubs me the wrong way. It suggests to me that BP is somehow maliciously buying search result links on search engines to redirect people to their own sites; in reality, they’re just buying sponsored links.
I’m not certain BP should actually be spending any money on their reputation at this point, and I’m certainly not a fan of BP at the moment, but I feel this is a slight misdirection on the part of ABC News.
Also: sponsored links are effective, but are users (still) confused about sponsored v. non-sponsored?
